Creative Mornings

CreativeMornings is the world's largest face-to-face creative community with free breakfast lectures in over 200 cities around the world. Powered by the generosity of local hosts and volunteers, events happen on a monthly basis typically featuring an inspiring talk and breakfast.

We were invited by the Hamburg chapter to share our passion for materials and sustainability on stage. With the global theme being "Roots" we decided to elaborate on an emerging field of bio-based materials driven by the qualities of mycelium, the mushroom's roots.

This event was kindly hosted by the digital agency SinnerSchrader, part of Accenture Interactive and headquartered in Hamburg. After a cup of coffee and inspiring introduction by writer Lubi Barre, we reviewed the qualities and applications of mushroom materials.

With case studies on packaging design, fashion, interiors and architecture we hope to have inspired Hamburg's creative hub. After the talk we demonstrated additional physical samples and enjoyed a shared interest for the potential of bio-based materials in creating a more sustainable future.
